Kosar's Group's story

Kosar does embroidery to help her husband financially. She learned this art in her teen-age years. Now she has become very skillful in her work and has obtained vast experience in her field. She is married to Z. I. and lives in a two-room brick house with her family in the area of Khiali by-pass. It is located in Gujranwala, which is an industrial city in Pakistan. She came here with her family 12 years ago. Her husband works in a factory. His income is not enough to bear the financial expenses of the whole family. That’s why Kosar started her embroidery business. She has given birth to two sons. Her elder son also works in the factory on a monthly wage, while her younger son is nine years old and is studying in the 3rd class. She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for her embroidery business. With the loan, she will buy embroidery materials such as colored thread, clothes, beads and sketches in bulk that will help her fulfill orders on time and generate a good income as well. Kosar remains worried about the financial future of her family, but she is hopeful that after this loan investment, her family’s financial condition will get better. She is a new loan applicant of Asasah. She hopes that it will be a profitable experience for her. Note: "In the photo, the lady who has holds a book (called Asasah Passbook) and shows her embroidered dress is Kosar".
