Soñadoras Del Futuro Group's story

Doña Inés is 43 years old and widowed. She has five children. She buys one-day-old chicks, fattens them up and, when they are a month old, she sells them. She has twenty years of experience in this business. Lacking capital she joined together with other neighbors who also have their own businesses. They decided to form the “Soñadora del Futuro” (Dreaming of the Future) community bank with Inés as president. The group's name means that they are dreaming of a better future for themselves and their children. The loan Inés is requesting will be used as working capital so that she can buy chicks and vaccines. Inés dreams of being able to distribute chicks or have a small farm which will help her to increase her income and improve her living conditions.
