Yousouf's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped Buy cattle.
Mr. Youssouf Kiné is a 35-year-old married man, father of five children, who lives in a polygamous family in the village of Soromana, one of the villages in the sub-prefecture of Fakola, part of the Kolondieba prefecture in the third region (Sikasso) of the Republic of Mali. As Youssouf did not attend school he took an early interest in revenue-generating activities. He finally opted to buy and sell cattle, as his other activities were not successful. While searching for additional financial resources, he decided to join the Soro Yiriwaso MFI’s credit loan program, where he is beginning his first loan cycle. Mr. Koné has six years’ experience in this line of business. He is well appreciated and sought after in Fakola, Kolondieba, and in Ivory Coast. He buys cattle in Fakola and the surrounding area and sells them in Ivory Coast, and at cattle markets in Niema and Koumantou in Mali. Sales are made in cash and often on credit, to a customer base of butchers, ranchers and from many other social categories. He hopes to attain monthly earnings of 200,000 FCFA. The profits will be invested in schooling fees, healthcare, food condiments and food.
