Leopoldo Arcides's story
Leopoldo, 37 years old, is a farmer and rancher. He lives with his family: his wife and their three children who are 12, 9, and 7 years old. All of them economically depend on him. They live in Santa Elena in the department of Usulutan. His business started thanks to the help of a friend that he worked with who taught him farming and ranching, which he greatly enjoyed, deciding to devote himself to this line of work. He doesn't have a set schedule, but now he is having difficulty because he doesn't have funds to purchase more livestock and farming equipment in order to do his daily work. Because of this he is requesting a loan to resolve this situation and to be able to grow his business and his revenues for his family. His one risk is that the crops are being hurt due to environmental conditions as well as the ranch, so that makes it more expensive and difficult to buy. His protection will come from increasing the number of livestock that he has, reaping a good harvest, having a lot of customers to sell to, and providing for his family.
