A loan helped To purchase and insure a dairy cow.

Janeffer's story

Janeffer is a poultry farmer from Murang'a town in central Kenya where she has been farming for 18 years. She sells her poultry at a local market. She is 45 years old and married with 5 children, 2 teenagers and 3 adults. Two of the children are currently attending school. She has requested this loan of 53,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to purchase and insure a dairy cow. The proceeds from the sale of milk will help improve the livelihood of her family. Her biggest challenge has been lack of an organized market for her products. In five years time, she hopes to have improved her dairy farming by owning at least three high-yielding dairy cows that will be producing at least 50 litres of milk daily. She comments that Juhudi is doing a great job by empowering small-scale farmers and that the future is bright with the financial assistance from Juhudi.
