A. Ulugbek is 38 years old. He is married with two children. He has a great passion for dairy farming and has been in this business for 6 years together with his wife. Ulugbek would like to expand his business by adding more cattle to the ones he has. This is because recently he acquired orders from outside town to supply milk. He is requesting a loan of 5900 Somoni. With additional income Ulugbek will be better able to cater for his family financial obligations, especially the education of his children. These conditions have resulted in high levels of unemployment and have forced hundreds of thousands to seek work in other countries, mainly Russia. While the people of Tajikistan are working to improve its agricultural production and manufacturing sector, nearly two-thirds of the population still live in abject poverty.
