Marisol Alexandra's story
Marisol is 24 years old and sells plastic items informally. She lives with her two children, ages 6 and 9, in Paraíso de Guayaquil (a peri-urban zone, characterized by dirt roads and houses situated in the mountains). She started selling plastic products 8 years ago. Her first items were plastic utensils and plates. Little by little, she increased her merchandise inventory and due to the effort she put into her business she was able to acquire some things for her house. She works as a travelling salesperson on the streets of Paraíso from 8:00 in the morning until her two children get home from school. With the loan that she is requesting, she will buy plates and plastic bins in order to have a wider variety of merchandise. In the future, she wants to fix her house that is now made of cane and to continue excelling for her children.
