Mujeres De Esperanza 3 Group's story

Carmen is one of the members of the Mujeres de Esperanza (Women of Hope) 3 Group, composed of 5 women who are small-business owners. They all work selling clothing, natural products, shoes, food, etc. Her family is composed of herself, her husband, and two children. Her business is a cafeteria where she sells all kinds of food, from snacks like sandwiches and juices to lunches of seafood and more. She tells us that her greatest challenge is to have a stable business, and she most enjoys watching television and cooking in her free time.

Carmen is very excited to receive her first loan from Esperanza Internacional. She has had her business for around 2 years and she started it when the former owner she was working with gave it up. Carmen plans to use her loan to buy juices, fruits, snacks, meat, and seafood. She is going to use her earnings to pay for her children's education, and she will also save some money. She desires to have a self-sustainable business that will generate enough earnings to support her family in order to count on a better future.
