Las Cariñositas Group's story
María D. is 29 years old, is a group member and she has two school age children. Six months ago, she decided to start a business that would not involve leaving her children and that would be profitable. She decided to start selling undergarments, blouses and other clothing items. She has been very pleased with herself for having started something that has been beneficial and more than anything, something she likes. She is easy to talk to and approachable. She shows her merchandise to her neighbors every three days. Then, they recommend other people, so she can increase her sales. María is going to purchase more merchandise with half of the loan. With the other half, she will purchase a three wheeled vehicle, since it’s heavy to carry the bags of clothing. More than that, she wants one, so when it rains, it’s easier to cover her merchandise. Her plans are to buy a stand, so she can stay in one place and more than anything, to give her children a better future.
