A loan helped To purchase cart loads of firewood.
Djénèbou Koné N. is a 37 year old widow and mother of five children,3 boys and two girls, who lives with her children at her late husband’s home in Wayerma I, one of the lower-class neighbourhoods of the town of Sikasso. Djénèbou Koné N. has been running her business of buying and selling bed linen, traditional fabric, and loads of firewood for over four years. She has a good reputation in this field and receives numerous orders, but her resources are insufficient to enable her to satisfy the demand. Thus she needs this new individual loan to buy 10 cart loads of firewood, 10 packets of sheets, and 2 suits of fabric embroidered respectively in towns surrounding Sikasso and at Bobo Dioulaso (Burkina Faso) in order to satisfy her growing clientele. She has been connected to Soro Yiriwaso for over three years and has already benefitted from several solidarity loans from a women’s association of her neighbourhood. All her loans have been repaid correctly. With this loan she plans to make a monthly profit of 100 000 FCFA which will be used to contribute to family expenses, pay the interests of her loan and invest in her commerce.
