A loan helped To start a poultry project.

Rose's story

Rose has been practicing mixed farming for the last ten years in Kitale town, western Kenya. Her farm produces milk, vegetables, maize and beans which she sells locally. She mainly depends on the income from her farming activities to cater for the needs of her family. Rose is 35 years old and married with six children between 16 and six months. Four of the children are currently attending school. She has requested this loan of 60,000KES to start a poultry project. She says her family will be able to live a better life and also see her children through school with the income from this project. The prevailing low market prices are a major setback for her. In five years' time, she hopes to have acquired two quality dairy cows so that she can diversify her source of income.
