Irshaad's Group's story
Irshaad comes from a small city of Punjab called Kasur, famous in Pakistan for its leather industry. She lives in a three-room brick house with her family in the area of Basti Laal Shah. She is married to S. A. and has given birth to three daughters and three sons. Only three of them could manage to get education till fifth standard. They had to leave their education due to the poor financial conditions of Irshaad and her husband. Irshaad’s husband operates a decorative embroidery business. He collects orders from different boutiques and cloth shops and provides them finished goods to earn an income for his family. Irshaad, her three sons and her eldest daughter also do embroidery to support S. A. in completing the orders on time. Irshaad has applied for a loan for her husband’s decorative embroidery business. With the loan amount her husband will buy embroidery items such as beads, colored thread and cloth in bulk quantity and make more embroidered dresses to fulfill large orders on time. Irshaad is hopeful that her husband will successfully uplift his business with this loan investment. She is a new loan user of Asasah and this is her first loan application to any MFI.
