Peter Gathogo's story
Peter Gathogo is a businessman who has operated a retail shop in the heart of Nairobi’s city center for about ten years. He is 50 years old and is married to Eunice Wairimu who 46 years old. The wife is a farmer and she also contributes to the family’s total income. They have four children: their firstborn is 17 years old and their second-born is 13 years old and both are in secondary school; the other two children, age 10 years and 8 years, are in primary school. Peter leant about KADET LTD through one of its credit officers and he is applying for his first loan of Kshs 50,000. He has no previous history with any other micro-finance institution and he plans to use the loan to purchase more stock for his retail shop and to venture into the distribution of Aberdare maize meal from Nyeri to Nairobi as a secondary business. In the future, Peter hopes to have distribution stores for food products to supply hotels and schools within the city.
