A determined and hard working K. Scovia, who is married with four children, is vibrant as she speaks of her agricultural businesses in Kizinda, Bushenyi. She belongs to Kyanyakatura Mother's Union and she owns a banana plantation and other agricultural farms that include cattle grazing and banana sales, all of which generate income for her family. These businesses earn approximately 160,000 Ugandan shillings on a monthly basis. She also sells milk from her farm to supplement her income. Her main drawback has been lack of funding to purchase more bananas for her stalls on her plantations, and this has reduced her sales revenue. This loan will help her improve her yields in terms of banana sales and enable her to meet the customers’ high demands. She will be better able to meet the family requirements in terms of tuition fees for her children and a provide a more self-sustaining life.
