Miguel's story

Miguel is an 18-year-old agriculturist from Jambaló, Cauca, who is aspiring to begin his first independent coffee production for local consumption. Miguel began cultivating three years ago with a small batch of seeds given by his father. He has progressively grown his terrain to more than 5,000 plants. Besides cultivating coffee, Miguel is also harvesting fique plants which will be later use to produce organic bags to transport and store diverse crops in his region.

Miguel lives with his wife and his parents in a shared house. He finished his high school last year and is aspiring to study agricultural development at his town’s local college.

A loan of $ 2,556,695 COP helps Miguel to buy tools, compost, and supplies to continue his first independent coffee batch production.
