Adelaide's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Adelaide's Group's story

This season is not the first one that Adelaide is working alongside One Acre Fund. She has been a member for a few years now, having joined the program in 2013 and, although she is the only person featured in the above picture, she is actually representing her group of nine farmers in Butere District, Kenya.

Adelaide is often described by her community as a very hardworking individual and decided to be the one to represent her group because she wanted to be more active in the community. Like many of her fellow farmers, Adelaide decided she wanted to be part of the One Acre Fund community in order to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods, and she hopes to use the profits from this year’s harvest to send her children to school.

This loan will not only help Adelaide but the whole group, which will receive maize seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 3.75 acres of land.
