A loan helped to buy pigs.

Thanh An 65 Group's story

Lai, 27, the youngest woman standing on the left, is the leader of Thanh An 65 group. She lives with her husband, 3-year-old son, 5-month-old daughter, and her husband’s family. Eight people live together in a traditional stilt house in Dien Bien Province, the northwest Vietnam.

Due to difficult circumstances, Lai could not go to university after high school. She has a dream that her children will go to school fully and have a bright future. It’s the reason why she and her husband work so hard every day at their farm. Their main income comes from growing rice, and raising chickens and ducks as other local people.

This time, she decided to get a loan from Anh Chi Em Program to expand her farm activities by buying pigs, because pigs grow fast and are easier to sell. With the profits from this activity, she will pay for her children's school fees and save for the new business.
