Jiwe La Pembe Group's story

Madame Barhalengehwa is a customer of the Hekima IMF and leads the village gropu Jiew La Pembe. She is married, age 48 and mother of five children who are all in school. Her spouse is a sidewalk vendor.

She sells potatoes, she started this business a year ago with startup funds from her husband. Later, she joined the Hekima program to support her enterprise and has continued to grow it. With this new loan, she will stock up on three bags of potatoes, which will reinforce her initial capital. The challenge for her business is linked to the spoiling of merchandise when she lacks customers.

She would like her children to continue to study and to develop her business. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for the support given to unbanked business owners in the context of the global COVID-19 crisis. The photo is only of the group leader because of COVID-19 social distancing measures.
