Ubumwe Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock up on small fries and "free" fish, which will reinforce her starting capital.

Ubumwe Group's story

Madame Beatrice is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and a member of the "Ubumwe" "groupe villageoise." She is married, 35 years old, and the mother of 5 children who all go to school. Her partner is a fisherman.

She sells fish. She began this business in 2003 with startup funds from her husband. Later, she involved Hekima's program to support her business, over the course of which she progressively evolved. With this new loan, she is going to stock up on small fries and "free" fish [possibly fried fish], which will reinforce her starting capital. The challenge of her business is linked to the theft of filets.

She would like for her children to continue to study and for herself to feed her family. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for the support brought to non-cash business owners in the context of the COVID-19 global crisis. The photo is only of the group leader out of respect for COVID-19 social distancing measures.
