Marilen's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to gain access to cost-efficient hybrid seed and fertilizer for maize cultivation.

Marilen's Group's story

Marilen has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2016 and, although she is the only person featured in the above picture, she is actually representing her group of 12 farmers in Teso District, Kenya.

Marilen is often described by her community as a very trustworthy person. She decided to be the one to represent her group because she wanted to help more farmers. Like many of her fellow farmers, Marilen decided she wanted to be part of the One Acre Fund community to earn enough to send her children to school. She hopes to use the profits from this year’s harvest to send her children to school.

This loan will not only help Marilen but the whole group, who will receive maize seed and fertilizer to plant a total of 5.25 acres of land.
