Maxine's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as certified quality seeds and fertilizer, to improve her crops.

Maxine's story

Maxine, 25, is a smallholder farmer. She has been farming for the past few years. Over this time, she has gathered a lot of experience and is considered among the best farmers in her village.

Her primary sources of income have been dairy and different crops. Maxine is very passionate about farming and loves cultivating her farm. She is an honest, hardworking, loyal person who is dedicated to her farm because it allows her to support her family's needs.

Although she makes a profit from farming, Maxine's standard of living is not comfortable. She has always wanted to increase her income by buying quality seeds and other farm inputs. She has requested this loan in order to make these investments and improve her crop farming.

Kenya's Eldama Ravine area, one of the country's most populated regions, has a high demand for food. This means that Maxine could increase her profits by meeting the existing demand for crops.

Maxine is grateful that Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with Kiva lenders to help hardworking and honest women farmers like herself turn their farming dreams into reality through training and loan financing. She is confident that this loan will help her and that she will be able to improve her standard of living through satisfying the local demand for crops.

Maxine is a special person and is grateful for the help and support of her Kiva lenders.
