Maria Helena's story

Maria Helena, 45, is a single mother with two children. She lives with them in the town of Tela, Atlantida. For eight years she has been selling basic goods in her grocery store which is set up in her home. She sells products such as rice, corn, beans, dairy products, sausage, chicken, soft drinks, juices and other basic goods. For two years she has also been selling cleaning products such as detergents and personal care products.

She is applying for a loan of 31,000 HNL through ODEEF to stock her store with products such as rice, beans, dairy products, flour, soft drinks, sweets, meat, vegetables, etc. This will allow her to improve sales and have more stock.

Her goal is to expand her business, earn more income and give her family a better quality of life.
