A loan helped to purchase more fashionable children's clothes of different kinds to attract customers.

Suzan's story

Suzan is 30 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mityana region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children who are all currently in school. For the past 6 years, Suzan has been working hard to manage her boutique, which sells all kinds of adult clothes such as shirts and dresses, etc.

To help expand her business, Suzan has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more fashionable children's clothes of different kinds to attract more customers. This will help Suzan to generate greater profits and improve on her standards of living by providing enough food for her family. Suzan hopes that in the future she will be able to rent off a big space and start selling all types of clothes wholesale.

Suzan is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Suzan who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
