Florence's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock more clothes, like shirts and dresses for adults, to sell.

Florence's Group's story

Florence is 21 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Kawempe region of Uganda. Florence's group is comprised of 2 members. She is married and has 2 children with 1 of them currently in school. For the past 3 years, Florence has been working hard to manage her boutique, which sells secondhand clothes for all adults.

To help expand her business, Florence's group has requested a loan of 6,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to stock more clothes, like shirts and dresses for adults, to sell, and will help Florence to generate greater profits, manage to pay for her mother's medical bills, and buy clothes for her children. Florence hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her business into a bigger shop and buy a vehicle to help in her business.

Florence is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Florence who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
