Maybel's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more dried fish, red oil, charcoal and other items to sell.

Maybel's story

Maybel is fifty years old and single with six children living at home. All of her children are currently attending school, while she herself went to school up to third grade.

Maybel’s source of income is from her business selling mainly dried fish, red oil and charcoal. She learned the trade from her mother and started the business a few years ago using her own savings.

Maybel has applied for a loan with Kiva's field partner BRAC Liberia to buy more dried fish, red oil and charcoal, plus other items to sell and increase her business. She is hopeful that with increased inventory, her sales will improve, thus bettering her ability to provide for her family.

In the future Mabel would like to build houses and continue sending her children to school. She is grateful for the financial support from her funders.
