Pakileata's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a large amount of mulberry for her tapa-making business.

Pakileata's story

Pakileata still insists on running her business to provide for her children. She is a divorced mother of six teenagers, and they are all attending school, with Pakileata solely responsible for their school fees. Once every week, she and a group of women in their village gather into a hall and make more than one tapa. Pakileata designs her tapas, then puts them out for sale. Sometimes some of her relatives from overseas buy her tapas, and sometimes it is just local buyers. Currently, the house they are living in is very old and needs to be renovated, but she does not have enough money to implement the work. Therefore Pakileata is applying for a loan for a large amount of mulberry in order to make more and more tapas, and sell them to put her dream to work. Her priority is the safety of her children.
