A loan helped to buy sheep.

Mallco Chapi 21 Group's story

Santusa, 37, lives with her spouse and has four sons. She makes a living selling sheep in a market in the city.

She says she started this business 3 years ago, and that she will use her first loan to grow her business by buying more sheep. She already knew the members of the communal bank; some are her neighbors and others family members.

A typical day for Santusa consists of getting her sons ready in the morning, making them breakfast, and preparing food for the day, and getting ready to sell.

Her business goals are to invest and grow her business. Her life goal is to see her children finalized their studies, become professionals, and not suffer any financial hardships.

Due to the pandemic and because this is a local payment, only the board members appear in the photo.
