Philice's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase cereals such as maize and beans and sell to her local market at a profit for a better life.

Philice's story

Meet Philice, a 41-year-old, hardworking farmer, who is not daunted by the difficult situations she has faced. She lives in Kitale with her family, an area with good rainfall patterns that favors farmers. Most people who live in this area are smallholder farmers. Philice has been practicing farming on a small, inherited piece of land, as well as selling cereals for more than few years.

She is seeking a loan to stock her cereals business with high-demand cereals such as lentils, cowpeas, and rice. She plans to use the money to purchase and transport cereals in bulk to faraway markets, where she will sell them at prices high enough to cover expenses and still make profits. Her life will change when she uses the additional income to raise her family's living standards and pay for her children's education.

Her positive attitude and hope of getting ahead proves her immense desire to better herself through this loan.
