Tiny's story

Tiny is a 42-year-old Mozambican woman. She is married, and she lives in Chimoio, Manica Province, with her husband and their three children.

Tiny is a very hardworking and motivated woman. Together with her husband, Tiny runs a small inputs shop in her community where she distributes high-quality seeds, pesticides, and fertilizers to many smallholder farmers. On the one hand, Tiny works directly with those smaller farmers, providing technical assistance so that they can correctly use the inputs. On the other hand, Tiny buys seeds and grains from the same group of farmers to sell in her shop.

Considering the fact that the selection of the seeds and grains is manual, it takes more time to select the good seed with the risk of packing a wrong seed or grain, which can negatively affect her business.

In order to reduce these risks, while continuing to support local, smaller farmers, Tiny intends to buy a grain seed calibrator processing machine, which will help her to select the best quality grains and seeds in an efficient way.

Considering the high cost of the equipment, Tiny needs additional money to complete the amount. This is why she is requesting a Kiva loan to buy a grain seed calibrator processing machine.
