A loan helped Purchase raw material for shoe-making business.

Zarina's story

Zarina is the resident of a small city located in the Punjab province of Pakistan called Kasur. Kasur is known for its leather industry. She is a 46-year-old housewife who is married to M. A. and has given birth to four sons and two daughters. For the last 15 years, Zarina’s husband has been involved in the business of making shoes. He operates his business from his home. He collects orders from different shoe stores and provides them finished goods to earn an income for his family. Zarina’s three elder sons help their father in his business. They started to support their father after they completed their 10th standard grade in school. Zarina also helps her husband in his business in her spare time. Due to an increase in manpower, Zarina’s husband now can produce larger quantities of shoes and offer his services to more clients. But in order to produce shoes in larger quantities, he needs more raw materials, such as nails, shoe polish and leather. Therefore, Zarina has applied for a loan from Asasah for her husband. The loan amount will help him to buy raw materials used in manufacturing shoes in larger quantities, which will help him fulfill larger orders on time. Zarina is hopeful that her family business will grow as a result of investing money into it.
