Fatma's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to increase the number of haberdashery materials.

Fatma's story

Fatma was born in Diyarbakır in 1954. She is married and has 7 children. She decided to work in order to support the education of her children. After she got married, her husband's income was not adequate to cover the house expenses and school expenses.

Since Fatma was a primary school graduate, she could not find a job and was looking for a job she could do from home while taking care of her children. Just at this time, she learned about microfinance.

She started to do handicrafts and embroidery at home with a 500 TRY microcredit she used in 2003. Later, she decided to rent a shop and started to sell both handicraft products and grocery items. Later on, she increased the number of available materials by receiving another microcredit. Fatma also started selling haberdashery products in her grocery store with the 5,000 TRY microcredit.

Fatma plans to increase the number of haberdashery materials with her microcredit of 5,500 TRY through Kiva.
