Nychol Lyna's story
Growing up in low-to-moderate economic environments & being exposed to at-risk conditions, my passion has been mentoring and uplifting underprivileged children across the globe. Through Dream North, I have socially impacted minority demographics through community events promoting literary efficacy. Foster children are in need of our support, and I intend to give of all of my time and personal belongings to remind them that they are deserving of great things. As the result of my own passion and drive to further my education, obtaining my BS, MBA, and MIB, I’ve obtained the necessary tools to lead my team to success and advancements. Through my experiences of supporting leading organizations like LACOE, Headstart, LAUSD, over the past 10 years, while also living abroad in Europe to pursue my non-profit initiatives of implementing a study on women and children exposed to abuse and sex trafficking, I’ve been led to an opportunity to establish my non-profit Dream North Foundation. Art and global unification have always been the catalyst that has pushed me beyond my own boundaries, leading me to produce award-winning documentary films like “Path to the Draft", as well as publishing my first children book “Forgotten Baby”, which is the inspiration behind the “Story Time with Dream North & Friends” book reading events we produce for foster and at-risk children in the USA and overseas. Through all of my recognitions, including being acknowledged by VP Kamala D Harris, Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti, Congresswoman Karen Bass, and Rabbi Sharon Brous (Founder of IKAR), in addition to obtaining the Spouses Education Scholarships for two years from the Congressional Black Caucus, I strive to amplify social impact across the country through my shelters for abused women and children, as well as our special events bringing awareness to foster children and the importance of literary cultivation.
