Ang Cang 23 Group's story

This story about Thiet, 34, leader of Ang Cang 23 group. She was born in Dien Bien province where agriculture is the main economic activities. Like other villagers, Thiet has been a farmer since she was very little and now, she is the single mom of a daughter. After the divorce, she has started her new life and provided for her daughter independently. They live together in a small low-roofed house with very limited access to necessary facilities.

Because without being trained for work and dropping out of school early, Thiet can only work at agricultural production, which is unstable and generates low income because of the harsh condition of nature and the lack of access to the modern technique in farming. However, with the experience in farming that she has accumulated since she was very little and through the training and counselling she has got from the Anh Chi Em Program, she decides to borrow a loan from the Anh Chi Em program to invest in fish farming model by buying fingerlings (young fish).

She is thankful for the support of the Anh Chi Em program which is timely and helpful to her. She dreams her daughter will escape from poverty and have an abundant life.
