Jennifer Johanna's story

Jennifer Johanna and her family live in Portoviejo, a city affected by the earthquake on April 16, 2016 and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for national consumption.

Jennifer Johanna has a small store in her home where she sells a variety of products such as clothing, shoes, perfumes, makeup, baseball caps, and sandals. She buys them from people who bring merchandise from the USA and they sell the items to her at low prices. She also makes sales online using whatsap. She leaves items on credit and collects weeks from her customers who always buy from her. At first, the social isolation had her not working due to the fear of contagion, as several restrictions prevented her from going out to sell, but she is currently open for business with the bio-security protocols in place.

This loan is to buy perfumes, Victoria's Secret creams, body splash, sandals, watches, etc. Her dream is for her sales to go back to the way they were before the pandemic and for her family to be healthy.
