Tikondane-Dawe Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more veggies and cereals from other smaller farmers to sell in the market.

Tikondane-Dawe Group's story

Tikondane-Dawe is a group of five women farmers. They live in Angonia district, and they are working together in agriculture. They have also been a savings group for more than two years.

Aida, the third [in the photo] with a silver bonnet, is the leader of group. She is a strong woman with natural leadership skills who is always motivating the group to succeed in its goals.

They are farmers, but they also buy crops from other smaller farmers in their community. Their main business crops are veggies such as tomatoes, potatoes, onions, and garlic, as well as cereals such as maize.

Besides the commercialization of crops, the group also works together as a savings group. This is how they help each other with access to finance, since locally, it's difficult for someone to lend money to women.

They intend to grow in their business, which is the reason why they are requesting a Kiva loan to buy more veggies and cereals from other smaller farmers to sell in the market.
