Mildred's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Mildred's Group's story

Pictured above is Mildred, often described as an extremely hardworking individual. She is 39 years old and, as a group leader, she is representing her group of six farmers in Butere District, Kenya. She is married and has four children.

Mildred is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund again as this means that she is able to have access to the best seed prices, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Mildred says that she is happy to have made that decision because, since she first joined in 2015, she has been able to consistently feed her family, which has improved her day-to-day life significantly. Mildred will use the profits from this season to send her children to school.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 1.75 acres.
