Nam Lich 12 Group's story

The Thai ethnic minority woman who stands the first from the far right in the photo is Doa. She is almost 40 years old, married and has two children. Her family lives in a small Thai traditional stilt house in remote village of Vietnam where agriculture is the main source to earn income for people.

Since she married, Doa has made great efforts in agriculture activities to earn money for her family. In the past, because of difficult circumstances, she couldn’t go to school and is illiterate, so she wants her children to go to school fully for a better future than hers.

Therefore, she always works hard and tries to develop her agriculture business so that she can afford her life and pay school fees for her children. She wants to expand her husbandry to earn extra income but the main hardship is lack of capital. Fortunately, the Anh Chi Em Program gives Doa a opportunity to borrow a loan for her investment. She plans to use this loan to buy more piglets to raise and sell later.

Doa said that she dreams that her family will have an abundant life and her children will study well, get good jobs and have bright futures. She thanked Kiva lenders and the Anh Chi Em program for supporting poor people like her to access loans and get more knowledge about agriculture that support her to complete her dream.
