but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay the expense of maintaining a parcel of cacao.

Vista Alegre Baja Group's story

The Communal Bank “Vista Alegre Baja” is a responsible and cheerful group that consists of eight members. The members are in their 19th loan cycle. Mario is the group president. Due to issues related to the pandemic, the three members who represent the Board of Directors are the only ones who appear in the photo.

Mario works in agriculture and trade. He is 54 years old and has four children. His partner sells groceries. Both he and his partner have been able to get ahead for the welfare of their family.

Fifteen years ago, Mario began harvesting his crops with the goal of continuing to increase his earnings at the market. He considers himself to be a hardworking, independent, and responsible man. Mario always looks to save so that he can invest in his children’s education.

For this opportunity, he is requesting a Kiva loan so that he can maintain a parcel of cacao in order to continue offering a quality product to his customers. As a second job, Mario sells liquor and operates a billiard hall.
