Ang Nua 19 Group's story

This story is about the leader of Ang Nua 19 group, Huong. She is 41 years old, married and has a son who has finished high school. She lives with her husband and son in a stilt house that is a traditional house of the Thai ethnic group in Dien Bien province. Agriculture is the main source to earn income for locals.

Like other locals, Huong and her husband work as farmers in cultivation including rice and coffee to nurture their son and to pay living expenses. With an aim to further develop her business, Huong invests in her coffee farm but coffee trees grow slowly due to a lack of fertilizer.

After having repaid 10 previous loans with a positive repayment history, Huong successfully is borrowing the 11th loan from the Anh Chi Em program in order to buy fertilizer for the coffee trees.

Huong hopes that with this loan, she will buy fertilizer for the coffee farm in order to develop and bring in abundant crops.

She shared thanks to Kiva Lenders and the Anh Chi Em program for this opportunity which will help her to have a wealthier way of life.
