Thanh Luong 52 Group's story

The young woman standing the first from the left in the photo is Nhung, the leader of Thanh Luong 52 group. She is 34 years old, married and has a daughter who is in third grade. Nhung as a couple lives with family, including her parents-in-law and her child, in a remote village which is in the border area of Vietnam with Laos. Every day, Nhung works hard in farming with many agriculture activities such as growing rice and raising pigs and buffalo to cover the family’s living expenses and her daughter's tuition. But the income from agriculture is not stable and easily suffers by nature. In order to have a stable life and have enough money for daughter’s education, Nhung decided to invest in pig farming by buying more pig foods, but the main hardship is lack of capital. Fortunately with her efforts, she repaid all previous loans and successfully borrows a new loan from the Anh Chi Em program to invest. Nhung hopes that these pigs will quickly grow up healthy to bring great profit to her. She hopes that her family will move out of poverty and have a better future.
