Maria Patricia's story

Maria Patricia, 26, is a single mother with a two-year-old son who is in CNH [early childhood education]. They live with her parents in Picoaza which is known for its trade activity and religious holidays. It produces vegetables, legumes and tropical fruits and is the source of progress and main informal commercial center of Manabi.

Maria Patricia has a small store in her mother’s house where she sells a variety of basic products such as rice, sugar, coffee, oil, pasta, sodas, water, milk, etc. She also sells diapers in different sizes and models, for children and adults. She works every day.

Her family suffered from Covid-19 and are all recovered. At first social distancing kept her from working for fear of contagion and several restrictions impeded her from going out to sell but now she is attending to customers with bio safety protocols.

This loan is to buy diapers, sanitary napkins, detergents, water, sausages, et.
