A loan helped to purchase a dairy cow and increase milk supply to meet the demand for milk at a profit.

Getrude's story

The bravery of Getrude, a mother, has always been the voice of hope for her family, who completely depends on her.

She resides in the Kapsabet area of Kenya, a remote town with harsh living conditions because of the bad terrain in the region. However, it is favorable for dairy farming. Her primary sources of income are from milk sales and a personal business she engages in to make ends meet. She has managed to take care of her family with her income from selling milk.

Getrude has always wanted to take care of another dairy cow, but a lack of capital has prevented her from doing so. She is now seeking a loan to buy an additional dairy cow to improve her milk vending business. The cow she intends to buy is a breed that produces rich and creamy milk. With this cow, she will produce more milk which will translate into more income. Demand for dairy milk in her area is high, but the supply is low. So, through this loan, she is going to have more milk and comfortably meet the demand.
