Umoja Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase charcoal in bulk to strengthen her initial capital.

Umoja Group's story

Madame Ghislaine is a client of the MFI Hekima and leader of the groupe villageoise Umoja. She is 45 years old, married, and the mother of 5 children, all of whom are in school. Her husband is a shopkeeper.

She sells charcoal. She started this business in 2013 with startup funding she received from the Hekima program to support her business, and over time she has made gradual progress. With this new loan, she will purchase charcoal in bulk to strengthen her initial capital. The challenge for her business is due to taxes and the rainy season.

She would like her children to continue their studies and would like to expand her business. Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for supporting owners of non-bankable businesses during the global Covid-19 crisis.
