Hellen's story

Meet Hellen, a 52-year-old dairy farmer from Subuiga community. Hellen is a hardworking member of Mutunyi Women's Group that is under the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. She lives with her husband together with their 3 children, all in school. It’s through farming that she is able to earn her daily income and educate her children.

Hellen has been doing dairy farming for 3 years now and she points it out as being profitable since it is able to sustain her livelihood. Nevertheless, she is undergoing the challenge of her cattle suffering from mastitis and foot and mouth disease, and also lack of feed for her animals. Hellen will use the loan to hire a veterinarian to treat her animals and she will be able also to buy feed for her animals.
