Monica's story

Many smallholder farmers and hardworking people with the will and strength to get ahead and strive for a better future live in the Kitale area of Kenya. One of them is Monica, a woman who, with charisma and a great capacity for work, has been able to overcome various obstacles that have been presented to her in her life.

Living in a poor country where work opportunities are scarce has never been an excuse for Monica, who has been practicing mixed farming for the past few years. Monica is a woman eager to get ahead, and she is blessed with lovely children who are her greatest motivation in her life. She perseveres because she wants to provide a better future for them.

Monica has always had an affinity for farming. She has nicknamed one of her cows. She is a proud farmer and enjoys milking her cows. Her cows produce 7-13 liters of milk a day, and this helps her support her family. Monica grows crops, but she has not been making good profits because of poor farming inputs.

Modern farming requires the use of modern techniques, and therefore using high-quality seeds will help her obtain a bigger harvest.

Monica will use the loan to buy farming inputs, and purchase high-quality seeds, good fertilizer, and pesticides to improve crop production.

Monica is a visionary farmer, and her goal for the season is to boost her crop production and also to build a modern house.
