Jacky's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase for additional cans of milk and sacks of onions for resale.

Jacky's story

Jacky is 28 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Makindye region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children, 3 of whom are currently in school. For the past year, Jacky has been working hard to manage her dairy shop which sells fresh milk and onions.

To help expand her business, Jacky has requested a loan of 1,200,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase additional cans of milk and sacks of onions for resale and thus help Jacky to generate greater profits. She will then be able to take good care of her family, buy food, and also boost her business.

Jacky hopes that in the future she will be able to build rental properties and a residential house on her piece of land.

Jacky is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Jacky who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
