Jane's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to increase her inventory of shoes and cosmetics so that she can expand her business.

Jane's story

Jane is a 35-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and three children in Kabwe District, Zambia. She sells shoes and cosmetics. With her first Kiva loan, Jane replenished her inventory, which increased her sales and now her business is thriving. She used the profit she earned to help support her family's basic needs.

Jane is requesting a second loan to expand her business by buying more goods to meet the needs of her customers. She plans to reinvest her profits back into her business.

Jane will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Alumnae Executive. Her role will focus on the formation and strengthening of the CAMFED alumnae association, CAMA, in various locations and institutions. She will also lead CAMA activities that give back to the community.
