A loan helped to buy fresh fish and seafood for resale.

01_Sebithiokho 2 Group's story

This group is part of a banc villageoise that was created in September 2013 and is made up of eight powerful women, who all live close to each other and maintain excellent relations. They all practice retail and have repaid several previous loans.

Ramatoulaye is their leader. She is 58, divorced with 5 children and seen with her hand raised, on the right in the picture. She runs a small seafood business, buying her supplies at the fish market and then sells in the local market. She has many years experience of this.

She is taking a new loan to buy boxes of fresh fish and seafood, like oysters and shrimp. Her business runs very well and she retails her stock easily. The profits allow her to pay for the needs of her children, like school fees. She will also make savings.
