Dorcus's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business by buying more clothes to meet her customers' needs.

Dorcus's story

Dorcus is a 32-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her nieces in the Kabwe district in Zambia. Dorcus sells clothes. With her first Kiva loan, Dorcus replenished her inventory, which increased her sales. Now her business is thriving.

Dorcus is requesting a second loan in order to expand her business by buying more clothes to meet her customers' needs. She plans to use the profit she earns to support her family and help the needy in her community.

Dorcus will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide and facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build children’s self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
