Chinvano-1 Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more veggies and cereals from other smaller farmers to sell in the market.

Chinvano-1 Group's story

Chinvano is a group of 16 farmers from Tsangano district in Tete province. The group has existed for more than two years. The members work in agriculture as well as in fishing. Their main crops are kale, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, garlic, and maize. The fish come from the sweet waters of Tsangano district. In order to maintain the fish quality for more time, the farmers dry the fish under intense sun using simply salt. After this process, they can transport the fish to Tete city to sell.

Amelia, the first from left to the right, in the front of the picture, is one of the oldest members and responsible for motivating the new ones. Her main source of income comes from the production and selling of veggies and cereals. Thanks to this activity Amelia is able to feed her children and send them to school.

The group intends to expand their business. This is why she is requesting a Kiva loan to buy more veggies and cereals from other smaller farmers to sell in the market.
